She/They STEAM Studio is a hands-on STEAM camp for students who identify as she or they and are interested in exploring technology through design, engineering, and creative problem-solving. In this focused studio experience, campers will design and fabricate wearable or personal objects that combine form, function, and technical thinking. Throughout the week, students will use digital design tools to create parametric, customizable designs and bring them to life using fabrication technologies such as 3D printing. Campers will engage with core engineering concepts including scale, fit, durability, iteration, and constraints as they prototype, test, and refine their work. Advanced components of the studio include integrating electronic elements, interactive features, or code-driven design techniques to extend functionality and complexity. With an emphasis on process over perfection, campers will practice real-world engineering habits: planning, testing, debugging, and revising their designs based on evidence and feedback. The studio environment encourages collaboration, experimentation, and confidence-building in a supportive and affirming space. Campers will leave with one or more finished wearable or personal tech projects and a deeper understanding of how design, engineering, and technology intersect. Ideal for curious and motivated students interested in STEAM, design, engineering, or creative technology. No prior experience required.She/They STEAM Studio: Wearable Tech & Engineering ✨🔧 (Rising 5–8)
Please note: There is no afternoon camp option for Students Rising 6-8th. However, students who are interested in participating in the afternoon program may apply to be a Counselor-in-Training (CIT). Students must fill out an application in order to be a CIT.
